Shalini Saraswathi
About
Shalini Saraswathi is an Adventure Enthusiast, Blade and marathon runner, and a Public Speaker, despite being a quadruple amputee-losing all four limbs at the age of 37.
In 2012, Shalini contracted a rare bacterial infection- Rickettsia with morts. In the months to come, she went through a lot- she lost her baby, survived multiple organ failures, slipped into a coma, and came out of the coma with unresponsive limbs.
She lost all of her limbs, becoming a quadruple amputee. She spent the next few months rediscovering herself, redefining her routine. Her regular fitness and general health brought her to her newfound passion of becoming an athlete. Supported and trained by Coach BP Aiyyappa, Shalini soon started participating in marathons.
Shalini leads an inspiring life as a noted blogger, a motivational speaker & a full-time corporate employee as a Deputy General Manager at Firstsource Solutions.
She is associated with a few NGOs & works toward the betterment of society. She is the ambassador of 'Adventures Beyond Barriers Foundation' and is involved with 'Saviour of Soul', an NGO that works with the rehabilitation of sex workers & their children.

Shalini was awarded the ‘Iconic Woman Award’ by the Ladies’ Wing of the IMC Chamber of Commerce, the ‘Kittur Rani Chennamma Award‘ Women and Child Development Department of the Government of Karnataka and Rashtriya Swayam Siddha Samman’ by the JSPL Group.
Shalini completed the TCS 10K Marathon in just 2 hours and 3 seconds in 2016 and in 1 hour and 35 minutes in 2017.

In the past few years, Shalini Saraswathi has addressed audiences at a host of corporates, including Walmart, Biocon, TESCO, Metlife, Xiaomi, BASF, Deloitte, HPCL, Wipro Technologies, TATA Communications, Amdocs, Fidelity, Salesforce, L&T, Dell and RR Donnelley.
Shalini is also a speaker for the CEO, CFO and CHRO talks conducted by IMA(International Market Assessment).
Despite losing all four limbs, Shalini defied all odds to become an inspiring blade runner and an accomplished para-athlete, never letting her disability stop her from achieving what she wanted in life.
